How to Treat Erectile Dysfunction with Viagra
The substance known as Viagra has become incredibly popular since it was first released in 1998 and in the years that have gone by, the substance has been used to help treat people with erectile dysfunction worldwide. For most men, it’s safe to use and effective – allowing them to get and keep an erection long enough to have sex.
What is Viagra?
The blue, diamond shaped pills have been used to treat males with varying degrees of ED, from those who only have erection trouble occasionally to those who have a more severe problem.
This medical condition generally occurs when the penis does not get enough blood flow – and often this occurs more frequently for those who are over the age of 40. Fortunately though, there is a treatment that works for most individuals; Viagra for men.
What does Viagra do?
For most men, this treatment is able to increase blood flow, which in most cases can give them the ability to achieve and sustain an erection. This substance works on certain parts of a male body, relaxing the muscles in the walls of the blood vessels within those areas. Generally, this will mean that more blood flow will get to the penis where it may otherwise be restricted.
If a male is sexually stimulated whilst the medication is in effect (it usually lasts for around 4 hours), then they should be able to get an erection that will last long enough for them to engage in sexual activities. It should go away after – and if it doesn’t within a few hours, then the individual should speak to a medical expert.
How do you take Viagra?
These pills can often be taken with or without food; although, when taken with fatty foods, it generally takes longer for the medication to come into effect. Usually, it should be active within 30 minutes to an hour. However, in most cases, it will have no effect whatsoever if the male who took it is not sexually stimulated.
It’s often incredibly important for a man to ensure that they are taking the right dosage, as too much could lead them to have an overdose.
Can Viagra treat other conditions?
Although this substance is well known for its ability to help men with erectile dysfunction, Pfizer (the company that created the treatment) have also created another medication called Revatio. Although the two are essentially the same in a number of ways, it is typically used to reduce the symptoms of PAH (pulmonary arterial hypertension) rather than ED.
